Chocolate Covered Bananas (Oh My… These Are Yummy!)
If you love Frozen Chocolate Covered Bananas, but can only find them at Disneyland or other amusement parks, you will be amazed at how easy and tasty these homemade Chocolate Covered Bananas are!
We served these at our 4th of July party and they were a huge hit- for young and old alike!
These Chocolate Covered Bananas literally take just a few minutes to make but bring out so many oohs and aahs!
Several of our guests thought these tasted more like chocolate covered ice cream than chocolate covered bananas…which makes it even better for children!
Ingredients For Chocolate Covered Bananas
6 Ripe, But Firm Bananas
12 oz Dark Chocolate or Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
4 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
1 Cup Chopped Nuts or Sprinkles
12 Popsicle Sticks
Directions For Chocolate Covered Bananas
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or nonstick foil.
Cut Bananas in half and insert a Popsicle Stick into each half, as shown. Place Bananas on baking sheet and freeze for about 15 minutes.
After Bananas are frozen, pour Chocolate into a tall container or glass (we used a beer mug for easy dipping) and melt Chocolate in microwave, or melt in a double broiler over stove, until smooth. Add Oil and stir well.
Take Bananas out of freezer and dip them into the melted Chocolate letting the excess drip off.
Then, quickly sprinkle Frozen Chocolate Covered Banana with Nuts or Sprinkles.
Gently place sprinkled Bananas back down on baking sheet and freeze until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.
After frozen, serve or place them in an airtight container and keep frozen. They will stay good for about a week in freezer.
We hope you and your family and friends enjoy these Chocolate Covered Bananas as much as we all do! We think they’re Awesome!
